Basic Dowsing |

If you are in to the Earth Mysteries, dowsing can be one essential tool for learning how to experience them. Sig will be leading an evening of basic dowsing concentrating on the pendulum and on L rods. If you have these tools, please bring them, if not, any small weight (like a ring) on a string/thread will make a fine pendulum. Two all-wire coat hangers will make fine L rods. He will cover his tuning in method for the pendulum to get "yes" or "no" answers to questions, and will teach you how to use your L rods/coat hangers to find the Earth energies that are in the Stapehill Village Hall. Sig was taught how to dowse by his mother over fifty years ago. He is a past Trustee of both the American and British Society of Dowsers, and has written a number of books on dowsing, one of which (The Pendulum Kit) has sold over a-million-and-a-half copies in fifteen languages. As a professional Geomancer (a diviner of the Earth), he teaches Earth Mystery related subjects both in Europe and in the United States, and lives in Glastonbury with his wife Karin, who is a well-known healer. |

Avebury's Cosmic Blueprint. The Cygnus Solution |

In the 1960s the grandfather of archaeo-astronomy Professor Alexander Thom came to Avebury to survey the henge and stones. He concluded that the complex's principle axis had been aligned during megalithic times to the setting of Deneb, the brightest star in the constellation of Cygnus, the celestial swan. Later, Professor Gerald Hawkins, fresh from his work at Stonehenge, turned his attentions to Avebury, and deemed that Thom must have got it wrong, why would such an important Neolithic complex be aligned to such an insignificant star? It made no sense. Renowned writer and explorer Andrew Collins, author of books such as From the Ashes of Angels, The Cygnus Mystery and Beneath the Pyramids, will reveal exactly why Alexander Thom was right all along. He will show that Cygnus, aka the Northern Cross, was a key constellation in the ancient mindset, being seen as the source of cosmic creation and the place of the soul in death. He will reveal how Cygnus was revered across the world from the ice age caves of southern France to the Hindu temples of India, from the Hopewell mound sites of Ohio to the Pyramids at Giza. This timely lecture falls on the eve of what Andrew call's Cygnus Day - the November midway point between the autumnal equinox and the winter solstice, when the Northern Cross stands proud on the northern horizon, like the World Tree illuminated by sparkling starlight. It was a time seen in the past as the moment when the entrance to the sky-world was thrown open to allow the souls of the dead to return to the world of the living in the guise of the flights of swans returning from their nesting grounds in the North. Paul Broadhurst is one of the most original authors and researchers into the mysteries of ancient landscapes, their myths and the effect they have on human consciousness. Probably best known as the co-author of cult classics 'The Sun and the Serpent' and 'The Dance of the Dragon', which have changed the way a whole generation relate to the land, he has also written a number of ground breaking books investigating subjects as diverse as Holy Well, Arthurian Mythology and the real meaning behind the myth if St. George. In this illustrated talk he reveals the latest extraordinary discoveries uncovered in his new book, 'The Sacred Land'. In this he shows that a series of giant figures, clearly visible on maps and Google Earth, were created in the West Country landscape to reflect important star constellations linked to the origins of Arthurian mythology, which is based on much more ancient beliefs than is generally believed. These include the giant image of a Great Bear, in the landscape of Tintagel, where, according to legend, King Arthur was born. Since 'Arthur' means 'Great Bear' in the old British language the truth behind the story is shown to be derived from an impressive understanding of cosmology, for the constellation of the Great Bear is the guardian of heavenly order, which ancient kings sought to bring down to earth. Other figures create a 'Round Table' of constellations, each reflecting the powers associated with certain star groups. Since Merlin is said to have been the originator of the Round Table, which became Arthur's property on his marriage to Guinevere, the King of Cornwal's daughter, these discoveries are linked to the earliest known legends of ancient Britain. The Olmecs, Quetzelcoatl and the Megalithic Origins of Central America |

Hugh has recently travelled around Mexico, Guetamala and Belize in search of the pre-Mayan megalithic civilization that flourished as far back as 2000BC. Mexico is famous for its Mayan and Aztec architecture but Hugh has discovered evidence of much earlier cultures, that were of megalithic origin and were the inspiration behind the Mayan emergence. The Mayans have been credited with introducing a sophisticated calendar, agricultural practices and incredible stonework, but it is now thought that the Olmec invented the Mayan calendar that ends in 2012 and taught the Mayans much of what they knew, with influences spreading into the world of the Zapotec, Toltec, Mixtec and Aztec peoples. Hugh will also explore the legend of the white god Quetzelcoatl and give an overview of the incredible Olmec civilization, who were thought to be African in origin |
