06-07-08 Fundamentals of Esoteric Philosophy
6pm Start Speaker: Barry Thompson
Newcomers to Theosophy are often daunted by the massive and sometimes musty tomes that are waved under their noses upon entry to the Sanctum. Isis Unveiled and The Secret Doctrine have acquired undeserved reputations as torturous and incomprehensible works, and their author, Madame Blavatsky, has gained a reputation as a person whose writings are best left to the initiated. In tonight's talk the speaker, not an initiate himself, will try to rescue the reputation of a dishonoured woman and demonstrate that a basic understanding of Theosophy, via the scintillating prose of H. P. B. herself, is available to all. An exponent of core theosophical teaching.

29-06-08 Taking up the Reins: The Wisdom of the Bhagavad Gita
6pm Start Speaker: Liz Parker
In the ultimate spiritual allegory Arjuna is the warrior whose horse drawn chariot is driven by Krishna. Arjuna rises to the challenge of facing the greatest battle a person can ever experience. How does Krishna support and aid Arjuna? Are we, like Arjuna, willing to take up the metaphorical reins, override our senses and receive our spiritual inheritance?
Liz Parker is an experienced international lecturer in Theosophy and Yoga. She trains Yoga teachers for the British Wheel of Yoga, the governing body of Yoga in the UK. Liz is also a priest in the Liberal Catholic Church in The British Isles.

22-06-08 Occult Exploration & Mystical Experience of the Inner Worlds

President of the Chester theosophical branch, he is author of a very popular audio study course, Astral Awareness, which gives help in achieving out-of-the-body experiences and higher consciousness. His methods for meditating in nature, especially with trees, were adopted by a yoga meditation centre in Northern India. Eric will lead us on an incredible journey with his personal accounts of occult and mystical practices and his amazing experiences.

15-06-08 Evidence of Reincarnation: Catalyst for Transformation & World Peace
6pm Start Speaker: Walter Semkiw
It would appear that from lifetime to lifetime, individuals carry forward the same facial features, personality traits, talents and passions and that we can continue our development from where we stopped in the previous incarnation. These are the findings of Dr Semkiw from multiple, independently researched reincarnation cases, including some studied at the University of Virginia. Cases include purported rebirths of Paul Gauguin, Nicholas Roerich and Anne Frank.
Dr Semkiw, MD, MPH, practices medicine in San Francisco. He is author of several books, including Born Again.

08-06-08 Quo Vadis: What Next for the Golden Dawn?
6pm Start Speaker: Bob Gilbert
The Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn was firmly rooted in the Rosicrucian tradition when it was founded one hundred and twenty years ago. Since then the Order has passed through a chequered history of growth and decline, but in recent years it has undergone a remarkable revival, and the Golden Dawn is now perceived as the pre-eminent Magical Order of the West. But is it truly so?
Bob Gilbert, a prolific author on the Golden Dawn, and historian of the Order will argue that a Hermetic Order cannot be magical in its essence, and that the true role of the Golden Dawn is very different.

01-06-08 Taoism, String Theory & Goddess Cultures: Attuning to Universal Rhythms
6pm Start Speaker: Jocelyn Chaplin
Is the hidden order of the universe an equalising rhythmic one? Does this force always strive to balance opposites in all dimensions, levels and scales of existence? And how can we attune to these rhythms in our everyday lives to develop spiritually and psychologically? Our speaker draws on String theory, Taoism and ancient goddess cultures to argue the importance of this rhythm model. Jocelyn Chaplin is a psychotherapist (soul healer) and spirituality teacher, co-founder of the Serpent Institute.

11-05-08 The Essence of Reality: Piercing Illusion to Clearly Discern the Oneness
6pm Start Speaker: Tom Nehrer

Most of our beliefs and how we define ourselves are formed during childhood but does this mask our Reality and our interrelated Oneness with Consciousness? Tom's long inner journey, glimpsed earlier during a mystic experience, brought about his perception of that Oneness. Tom clarifies inner causality of real events and relationships, and shows how by transcending negative mindsets, we can see beyond Illusion and discover life's inexorable flow. Thomas D. 27-04-08 The March to Inner Freedom
2pm Start Speaker: Geoff Freed

This afternoon we will look at some of the comfort zones we build around ourselves such as brain washing, programming, defence systems, the central psychological core, the self we call ego, this limited existence, the frightened inner child. Exploring these issues through visualisation, imagery, written exercises, meditation and discussion we may find that we are able to march towards the goal of inner freedom. Geoff Freed is a healer, psychotherapist and counsellor and teaches Qi Gong, T'ai-Chi and meditation. He has also spent time with Tibetan Monks at Samye Ling.

20-04-08 Networking with Angels
6pm Start Speaker: Phillip Martin

We are still in the middle of the angel wave; lots of people giving workshops about them but to work with the angelic realm is complex and we also need to understand who they are and what is their function as well as being able to distinguish between them and other spiritual beings who may be influencing us. This talk will show you where the light switch is located!

16-03-08 Astrology - The Path of Return
2pm Start Speaker: Wendi Sellar

Each zodiac sign depicts a stage in the journey of the soul as it passes into incarnation, and then treads the Path of Return, back to its source. Each sign has a purpose which results in individual personality traits, expressed on either a higher or lower level. An evolved soul tends to function on a higher level of consciousness; someone with purely selfish aims functions on a lower level. Yet there are opportunities in each lifetime to move onto a higher level. Such opportunities involve the Form nature or material sphere and include psychological conflicts, relationship difficulties, illness etc.
Wanda Sellar is editor of the Astrology & Medicine Newsletter and a former President of the Astrological Lodge of London.

24-02-08 Energy, Sacred Geometry and World History
6pm start Speaker: Clemens Brenan

As above, so below. In the above or esoteric part of this illustrated talk, we will follow the sequential construction of forms and shapes in sacred geometry. In the below or worldly part, we will trace the major events, trends and personalities of world history over the past millenium. In both lines of development we will find the same progression of natural laws and principles. From the Crusades to the fall of Communism, you could have predicted it all. And now the same geometry predicts that we are crossing the threshold into a new Golden Age for humanity.

24-02-08 Dream Your World in to Being
2pm start Speaker: Steve Nobel

All ancient cultures knew that the universe is magical and that reality can be bent and shaped. To do so it is important to know about the three levels of reality: level one; physical laws around cause and effect, and action and reaction; level two; energetic laws of attraction and repulsion, vibration and resonance; level three; laws of consciousness which are about the evolution and oneness principle of consciousness and how we dream reality into being. This workshop will be a practical exploration of these three levels and how the tools you need to be a more effective manifestor.
Steve Nobel is a director of Alternatives, author of The Prosperity Game and a student of shamanism and magic.

The Hercules myth is the story of a son of man who is also the son of god and that is the case for every human being. The labours that Hercules accomplished represent fields of opportunity that each of us must face and overcome in the arduous journey of evolution towards the mountain of attainment. As the soul passes through each of the 12 gates it enters the world of duality, conflicts and battles with the forces of limitation and resistance. In this lecture we will interpret the myth and reveal the keys veiled in the narrative which we can use to be more effective in all aspects of our lives.

03-02-08 Esoteric Symbolism in the Epic of Gilgamesh

The Ancient Sumerian Epic of Gilgamesh is the earliest known recorded myth. The earliest surviving fragments, written on clay tablets in the Cuneiform alphabet, date from c.25,000 BCE. A more complete version, part of which is now on display in the British Museum, dates from the 7th century BCE. Though the story can be read as entertainment or seen as history, it also contains many symbols whose esoteric meanings are still relevant today.

27-01-08 The Egyptian Path of Love A Journey to Sacred Marriage (book launch).
6pm start Speaker: Katy Butler

The Egyptian Path of Love is a system of spiritual growth and development, based on the seven chakras and the sacred marriages of the inner gods. It proceeds from the ‘root' of the individual, or deepest desires and needs, to the crown of self-rulership and realisation of spiritual purpose. In exploring the dynamics of the gods and their different marriages, the system teaches how to obtain, retain and maintain for oneself the stability, peace and prosperity of a golden age in an increasingly troubled world from a perspective of love and respect.
Katy Noura Butler has been a spiritual counsellor and teacher for thirty years. She founded and runs a school at the Pyramids in Cairo for seekers of the mysteries from all over the world.

27-01-08 Yoga, the Mind the Path of Wellbeing .
2pm start Speaker: Ram Gokal

What goes wrong when you are not in good health? It is more than just being physically ill. Health and well being is a reflection of the integrity of our total self: body, mind, soul and emotions. Physical, mental and spiritual practices help alignment, harmony and peace of mind. Most illnesses have a deep rooted basis - in the mind. Yog is an ancient Vedic science related to the journey finding out who you really are and incorporates the philosophy of pranayam (breathing techniques) asanas (postures) and meditation, which unravel the basis of good health and treating disorders. The seminar is a practical approach to the yog and pranayam and the ‘control' of the mind.
A retired Professor of Medicine, Ram Gokal is now involved in spirituality and healthcare.

20-01-08 Morphic Resonance and the Habits of Nature.
6pm start Speaker: Dr Rupert Sheldrake

According to the hypothesis of formative causation, all self-organizing systems, including crystals, organisms and societies contain an inherent memory, given by a process called morphic resonance from previous similar systems. All human beings draw upon a collective human memory, and in turn contribute to it. Even individual memory depends on morphic.resonance rather than on physical memory traces stored within the brain. This hypothesis is testable experimentally.
