The Somerset Pagan Discussion Group Is open to all and to be held on 2nd Wednesday of every month. It aims to provide a discussion platform.

  • Ideas put forward so far include: A discussion on the nature of Divinity - are the Gods and Goddesses real? How do you experience them? Are they created by us? Are we created by them?
Discussions on dowsing, working with Earth energies and leylines. With practical activity as well.
Healing. How do we heal? What happens when we give or receive healing?
A discussion on past lives. Do we believe in reincarnation? How do we feel about the idea of our own past lives and do we believe they might have something to teach us in this life?
Discussions about the archetypes of the Major Arcana. How do we perceive them? How do we interact with them? How are they part of us? Which ones do we accept and which do we deny? Can we learn more about ourselves by studying them? An addition to the reincarnation issue: If we believe in reincarnation, how does this explain ghosts? A discussion on time itself How about whether we chose to be born to our parents to learn lessons from them or to teach them things? Divination – how, why, what works? Let's explore them all! Sacred space: what is it? How do we find it? Where is it? What do we hold sacred? What did our ancestors? What do we really think of esteemed or maligned occult practitioners such as John Dee, Israel Regardie, Crowley , Gerald Gardner, Dione Fortune etc?

Considering that pagans have a tendency to look inwards, rather than out, which leads to all sorts of minor differences getting quite out of perspective, and the petty squabbles the movement is so prone to, discussing issues such as:

  • What contribution pagans can make to world problems?
  • Is there a pagan perspective on climate change?
  • Should pagans be in the lead on self-sufficiency?
  • How can we improve our (very) local environment?
  • Things like that, where we can come to some consensus (on at least part of the issue) on a practical basis. And follow-up activity, whether picking up litter in parks, or helping one another plant the spuds!!

This is not an exhaustive list, nor is it exclusive. Please do come and join in, bring other ideas as well, to make this a great place for exchanging views and ideas and sharing knowledge. Open to everyone.

Tell everyone as this is an open ritual and all are welcome. It is a fire ritual which is one reason we like to use the beach as a venue. Time 7.30pm at Allendale Road.
