Sometimes called the Eye of Vision , this organ of perception slowly opens over the course of many incarnations. By so doing, it gradually gives us the capacity to sense the deeper truths expressed through our individual lives, as well as outer events. In this talk, William Meader will present a deep understanding of the Eye of Vision and how to recognize its influence within one's day-to-day perceptions. He will also discuss methods to further facilitate its opening

This summer's retreat is founded upon the work of Dion Fortune, W.G. Gray, Alfred Ronald Heaver, and other esoteric mentors of the 20th century. We will find the vital threads woven by our spiritual ancestors and move them into present time, releasing cumbersome scripts and obscure terminology and embracing clear and active sacromagical ritual and ceremonial arts.

11-04-14 The Wisdom of Trees
  Facilitator: Rachel Corby

This course offers an opportunity to engage with and learn from Nature in the beautiful landscape of Hawkwood. Rachel takes her inspiration from the work of Stephen Harro Buhner, based in New Mexico, USA, with whom she completed an apprenticeship. His books Direct Perception of Nature and The Lost Language of Plants inform her approach and she applies the knowledge she has gained to English trees.

All ancient and indigenous peoples insisted their knowledge of plant medicines came from the plants themselves and not through centuries of trial-and-error experimentation as modern thinking would have us believe. Buhner delves into this reality through the exploration of the heart as an organ of perception. The commonality among indigenous peoples and individuals such as pioneer plantsman Luther Burbank, Henry David Thoreau, Goethe and the foremost agricultural thinker of our time- Masanobu Fukuoka, is revealed to be their approach to learning directly from the plant world. Buhner also outlines how we can all use these techniques to directly learn the medicinal uses of plants and engage in a profound relationship with the heart of Nature. Instinctual yet revolutionary!

We will be using astrology, myth and experiential work to develop our understanding of these fundamental symbols.

By the end of the one day course participants will have gained a deeper understanding of the meaning of the four elements and their place in astrology and they will have gained some insight into their own personal relationship to them from working with their birthcharts.

Participants will need to supply their birth data in advance - date, place and time of birth - to enable the tutor to prepare each participant's birthchart, or participants can bring along their own charts

Loving What Is

  Facilitator: Katie Byron
You may notice that negative thoughts run through your mind many times a day, fostering fear, anger, stress, and depression. How different would your life be if these thoughts never bothered you again? The Work of Byron Katie is a process that clears the mind. It just consists of four questions and a turnaround (which is a way of experiencing the opposite of what you believe.) It is so simple that anyone with an open mind can do it. It is radical and life-changing and it really works
