04-11-08 Awakening Consciousness
Notting Hill London World Book Launch Event

This is the title of a new book containing many lectures that Sir George Trevelyan gave during the 1960s-1980s. We will be launching this publication by Godstow Press on this evening which includes the ninth Sir George Trevelyan memorial lecture which will be given by David Lorimer. We will also have an opportunity to enjoy exchanging ideas with others in cafe style conversations on how Sir George's vision might best be carried forward today. We do hope that you may be able to join us for supper and this event and also forward these details to those of your friends and family within reach of the London area. The changing times, for which Sir George was a prophetic voice, are now looming large in our awareness and the Wrekin Trust is committed to continue the work of raising consciousness that Sir George commenced. Venue: Essex Unitarian Church 112 Palace Gardens Terrace, Notting Hill Gate, London W8 4RT. Time 6.30pm - 9.30pm.

23-05-08 Practical Mysticism: The Way of the Future
Stroud
(Hawkwood)
A three day workshop with William Meader

For Centuries mysticism has been a major force in our quest to experience God and the spiritual dimension of life. Our yearning to find relationship with the divine is ancient, and has been an instinctual impulse with us since the dawning hour of humankind. Mysticism which has been an important aspect of all the major faiths is now gradually evolving into an approach to God, which integrates the inner, and the outer aspects of life and brings a contemporary understanding of spiritual living. This approach is called practical mysticism. In this weekend workshop the nature and application of practical mysticism will be presented. Listed below are a few of the topics to be presented.

  • The transformation of the mystic in to the practical mystic
  • Recognising the Spiritual Call
  • The destiny of the soul - to be a creative agent
  • Crisis as a prelude to expanded consciousness
  • Meditation used by practical mystics
  • Goodwill versus the will to good
  • Enlightened techniques used by practical mystics
  • The mystery of good and evil - an evolutionary perspective
  • Practical mysticism and service through magic
